On Saturday, July 20th, renters and homeowners living in the North Hartford Promise Zone came together at Parker Memorial Community Center for our Housing Resources Fair. These community members were able to talk with representatives from City of Hartford - Department of Health and Human Services, City of Hartford - Housing Division, Community Solutions, Connecticut Children's Medical Center - Healthy Homes Program, Hartford Community Loan Fund, PosiGen, Clean Water Fund, Catholic Charities Family Center, and the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Participants learned how to leverage the resources these organizations have to offer regarding concerns such as Lead Hazard Remediation, Financial literacy, Landlord and Tenant Rights, the Housing Preservation Loan Fund, Emergency Home Repairs, Fair housing and foreclosure help, Loan products for energy efficiency, and health and safety improvements.
